The Liars Still Lie
Gone are the good ol’ days when you could waterboard anyone that looked at you sideways. Gone are the days that democracy was just a word that contained a subset of a irritating political party’s name, not to mention the basis on which the United States was founded. Now we are in an era of accountability, or back-pedaling, whichever applies to you.
According to the NY Times, Republicans are after Nanci Peolosi accusing her of being briefed by the CIA about the use of water-boarding and torture in September of 2002. The Director of the CIA, Leon Panetta, is supporting those claims that Pelosi was thoroughly briefed about the torture program.
"Bull Puckey! (sic.)", says Bob Grahm, former senator from Florida. He claims to have been breifed on the same same information as Pelosi, but recalled a much more "bland" session. Grahm states:
I do not have any recollection that day of there being a discussion of something that would have been as neon as waterboarding or other torture techniques…This is just a small chapter of a long, long book of CIA inaccuracies, particularly in the early part of this decade."
According to the NY Times, Grahm famously keeps detailed records of his daily activities. The agency claimed to have breifed him four times, but Grahm determined he only attended one session.
Somebody in the CIA is about to be in BIG trouble.
To add insult to injury, Panetta is not reveialing that the CIA was already using torture BEFORE Pelosi and others were told about it. How convienent. Newt and Rush are on the march. This should make for a while lotta lying going on.
