In a sad attempt to shore up American support for a meaningless war, Bush, addressing the American People on Tuesday, said that the only strategy to tackle militants was to “defeat them abroad before they attack us at home”.

He said he would not send any more US troops to Iraq - and nor would he set a timetable for withdrawing those there. He said setting such a timetable would simply enable the insurgents to wait for a US departure.

He has not more troops. He can’t dupe 16-year-olds fast enough. Nobody believes in this War anymore, and nobody wants to go get killed for no reason.

Bush said, “The only way our enemies can succeed is if we forget the lessons of September 11,”. So why the hell don’t you get Osama? You know where he is…why don’t you avenge the American People and the thousands dead in 9/11?

Bush is such a liar. He lies to line the pockets of Halliburton and his vice-president Dick Cheney. He lies and has innocent Americans killed. He lies so he can continue his Rich-Man Oil Man Fantasy. He is a true sick puppy.

Impeach Bush now. If not now (while the crooked Republicans block the truth), vote Democrat in ‘06 and impeach the bastard then.

The new Iraqi Commission on Public Integrity is reporting to the BBC News that there is massive corruption in most of the new Iraqi government departments. So much so that arrest warrants on fraud charges have been issued for two former department heads in the US-appointed Iraqi interim government and warrants against 44 Iraqi government employees have been issued.

Among the abuses he cited were employees awarding contracts to relatives, mismanagement and waste of public funds, and using their position for public gain. The Commission on Public Integrity is also going to suggest the setting up of a public integrity academy.

The US needs a Comission on Public Integrity to procecute War Criminals…oh wait, we have the House Judiciary Committee. Well so much for that…the head of the comittee, Sensenbrenner, refuses to hear the Democrates. Guess King George is safe for now.

Speaking on Fox News, Mr Rumsfeld said the US regularly “facilitates” meetings between Iraqi officials and insurgents. US officials have said that the Iraq insurgency is growing, and Mr Rumsfeld admitted the revolt could last up to a dozen years. Rumsfelds spin session on Fox came after the London Sunday Times newspaper said that two meetings took place north of Baghdad.

“I would not make a big deal out of it,” Rumsfeld told Fox News, “Meetings go on frequently with people.”…”I think the attention to this is overblown.”

It is becoming obvious the Bush administration is becoming weak and desperate in this fake war, when they have to resort to negotiations with insurgents. Bush himself is scheduled to address this on Tuesday.

Quoting Iraqi sources, the Sunday Times said insurgent commanders “apparently came face to face” with four American officials during the talks held on 3 and 13 June at a summer villa near Balad, about 40 miles north of Baghdad.

The Sunday Times also said the insurgents included representatives of Ansar al-Sunna, which has carried out numerous suicide bombings, as well as lesser known groups such as Mohammed’s Army, the Islamic Army in Iraq and Jaish Mohammed.

One of the Americans at the talks introduced himself as a Pentagon representative and declared himself ready to “find ways of stopping the bloodshed on both sides and to listen to demands and grievances,” The Sunday Times said. Also reported was this Pentagon representative indicated that the results of the talks would be relayed to his superiors in Washington.

The US officials tried to gather information about the structure, leadership and operations of the insurgent groups, which irritated some members, who had been told the talks would consider their main demand, a timetable for the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, the report said.

The Iraq insurgents identified by the Sunday Times have denied any participation in the talks.

In an interview with the National Review on June 20, Klein states about Hillary “How can she stand his (Bill Clinton’s) chronic infidelity?”. Probability the same way Jackie-O could, but he just can’t make himself admit it. In his book he even implies Chelsea is a child of rape. He obviously holds different standard for these two great women.

When asked if he was worried about presenting so many anonymous sources in the book, he responded, referring to himself in third person, that the author has impeccable credentials. He also compares himself to Woodward and Bernstein of Watergate fame, citing that they, too, had anonymous credentials. Illusions of grandeur are also present in Klein’s psyche.

The Defense Department has begun work with a private marketing firm, BeNow Inc., to create a database of high school students ages 16 to 18 and all college students to help the military identify potential recruits in a time of dwindling enlistment in some branches.

They need fresh meat so they have turned to an old fashioned marketing company coupled with the growing power of this Republican Government to get it.

The new database will include personal information including birth dates, Social Security numbers, e-mail addresses, grade-point averages, ethnicity and what subjects the students are studying.

In anticipation of opposition, DOD put out a statement: “The purpose of the system . . . is to provide a single central facility within the Department of Defense to compile, process and distribute files of individuals who meet age and minimum school requirements for military service.”.

They will use this compiled information information to target poor kids who will be more likely to join for financial reasons. The activity is profiling, and the military hopes it will enlarge their numbers without having to resort to a draft it desperatly needs to sustain this illegal war.

The Bush Regime No Child Left Behind Act already allows military recruiters data and access to high school campuses. Recruiters have been contacting kids at home and have angered parents. If schools bar recruiters from their campuses, they loose federal funding under the NCLB Act.

The Pentagon’s statements added that anyone can “opt out” of the system by providing detailed personal information that will be kept in a separate “suppression file.”
Like the No-Call list? Just look how well that works. What are the penalties for violating our rights? There aren’t any.

The BBC new reported today: Investigators from the United Nations have accused the US of stalling over their repeated requests to visit detainees at Guantanamo Bay.The UN said for over a year there had been no response to its requests to check on the condition of detainees.

“We deeply regret that the government of the United States has still not invited us to visit those persons arrested, detained or tried on grounds of alleged terrorism or other violations in Iraq, Afghanistan, or the Guantanamo Bay naval base,” the four UN investigators said in a written statement.

They have been asking to visit Guantanamo Bay as part of an investigation into allegations of human rights abuse at the US-run prison.

The accusations include “serious allegations of torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment”, they said.

Prisoners at the base are visited by officials from the International Red Cross, but their findings are not published.

According to an exclusive interview today with Porter Goss by CNN’s Timothy Berger, when asked when the US will get bin Laden, Goss responded by stating, “In the chain that you need to successfully wrap up the war on terror, we have some weak links. And I find that until we strengthen all the links, we’re probably not going to be able to bring Mr. bin Laden to justice.”

When asked if the CIA knew where bin Laden was, Goss responded “I have an excellent idea of where he is. What’s the next question?”.

My question is: So why the hell doesn’t Bush go get him? What is the hold up here? As of today we are at 1,373 days since bin Laden has killed 2,752 Americans on American soil. Poll after poll list Bush’s only strength as keeping the US safe from terrorist attacks when he is doing NOTHING to make us safe. How can American’s be so duped for so long?

The House debated today over an amendment that is designed to make the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, file a yearly report to Congress outlining their efforts to promote religous freedom. This is in response to complaints at the academy of discrimination, and from one cadet who was transferred after she complained. The amendment states the coercive and abusive proselytizing is not allowed.

Rep. John Hostettler (R-Ind), during a debate over the issues at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, stated “There is a war on Christianity by Democrats in the House”. He continued and went too far when he stated, “Like a moth to a flame, Democrats can’t help themselves when it comes to denigrating and demonizing Christianity”.

Rep. David Obey (D-Wis) wisely interrupted this drivel and demanded that the “Words be Taken Down”. That began a diciplinary process against Hostettler. After debate by the House Chair, Hostettler got his hand slapped and was forced to withdraw his remarks. Obey and Steve Israel (D-NY) were allowed time to rebuke Hostettler for his remarks. Isreal astutely pointed out that Hostettler’s remarks were “testimony for passage of the amendment”.

Hostettler was allowed to respond and immediately questioned the meaning of “proselytizing” because Indiana had outlawed five syllable words, declaring them anti Christian. He also stated that Israel’s efforts were “engaging in an anti-Christain act”. Hostettler was forced to withdraw that sentence as well.

Hostettler, former Baptist Deacon, is also known for his religious movement to change the name of the Indiana freeway, I-69. For some perverted reason, visions of sex acts pop up in his mind when he drives on the freeway and instead of thinking the whole thing funny like a normal human being, he is reminded of how good the Catholic church used to have it. Hostettler stated, “I believe it’s time to change the name of the highway. It’s the moral thing to do”. The reason for his sex obsession is not known at this time.

Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R-CA) is doing his best to make the Repugnicans proud and has been rewarded for his efforts with an open investigation by the FBI. Cunningham, who sits on the House defense appropriations subcommitte, sold his house in beautiful Del Mar, California to Mitchell Wade, CEO of MZM Inc., a defense contractor based out of Washington at an inflated price. Wade sold the overpriced house at a $700,000 loss. That is enough to arouse interest right there but it gets better.

Cunningham has admitted supporting MZM Inc. in its efforts to win tens of millions in defense contracts. Cunningham has said the transaction was “aboveboard” but with every Republican scandal, a little digging quickly shows otherwise. Cunningham had the house appraised by an “independent” appraiser for $1.65 million. So naturally Wade paid Cunningham that much for the property. Not bad but when Wade put the house on the market the very next day it sat empty for eight months until he sold it for a $700,000 loss. Either Wade is the worst real estate speculator in the history of the world or he just purchased insurance for another defence contract.

The woman who appraised the house for Cunningham was Elizabeth Todd of the Willis Allen Co. Mrs. Todd and her family have been long time financial supporters of the Dukester. What a surprise. When Cunningham took the money from Wade for his Del Mar house and used it to purchase his $2.55 million mansion in Rancho Santa Fe it was Todd’s first real estate transaction according to California real estate records. She probably pocketed $76,000 for the transaction and the appriasal favor. Shocking. It is fun to see that Republicans do screw each other over also though.

But, of course, there is more. When the Dukester is in Washington D.C. he stays aboard a 42 foot yacht named the Duke-Stir. Nice digs if you can get them. Especially when you don’t own the boat. The yacht is owned by Mitchell Wade. It is a small world when you live in Jesusland. The boat is moored at the Capital Yacht Club along the banks of the Potomac. In 1998 when Cunningham was living in his own yacht, the Kelly C, at the Capital Yacht Club, Cunningham used his position on the defense appropriations committee to spend $3 million to refurbish the waterfront.

It was not to benefit himself and the area he calls home in DC though. Cunningham explains that Speaker Newt Gingrich had “said he (Gingrich) wants to make DC a shining city, and so I said OK…I want to clean up the waterfront…not for Duke Cunningham, I haven’t got a nickel invested.” Of course he doesn’t because he used $3 million of our tax money to do it. Somehow I don’t think the Capital Yacht Club was hurting for a refurbishment.

Cunningham keeps saying everything is “aboveboard”. Yeah, right. Only the President is that stupid. Rep Randy “Duke” Cunningham, you are a Republican whore who is too stupid for Congress.

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush asked a state prosecutor on Friday to investigate the circumstances of Terri Schiavo’s collapse, saying a new autopsy report revealed a possible gap between when Ms. Schiavo fell unconscious and when her husband called paramedics.

“It’s a significant question that during this entire ordeal was never brought up,” Governor Bush told reporters in Tallahassee after faxing a letter to Bernie McCabe, the state attorney in Pinellas County, where Ms. Schiavo suffered extreme brain damage when her heart temporarily stopped beating in 1990. McCabe, who agreed to open the investigation, is a republican that will surley expect a promotion for this deed.

In a statement on Friday, Ms. Schiavo’s husband, Michael, called Governor Bush’s actions “sickening” and said he had called 911 promptly. Mr. Schiavo said in an interview with CNN’s Larry King in 2003 that he found his wife on the floor outside their bedroom about 4:30 a.m. and quickly called 911.

This is nothing but a circus side show designed to divert attention away from the real issue of the day - the inevitable impeachment of his brother, President Bush. The more coverage Shiavo gets, the less coverage the Downing Street Memo gets. Simple, but unfortunately, effective.
