Drug Companies Value Human Life
The day after Bush signed the law limiting class action lawsuits, the makers of Vioxx (the arthitus drug that causes heart attacks) chose to put consumers in danger by putting their drug back on the market. They did this because the whores in the Whitehouse have made the lawsuit risk to large companies nothing but a manageable expense. How much is a human life worth? The drug companies have calculated that and it seems now they can afford it.
The drug companies recommend that doctors be more responsible in prescribing the drug. At the same time, they will continue to advertise the drug directly to potential consumers on television. According to CNN they are recommending that people who are prescribed the drug sign an agreement that they understand the risks.
There is a certain amount of responsibility that you must take on yourself. For instance, if you step in front of a truck, you will probably be killed. On this level it is Darwinian natural selection. However, if a drug company disguises that truck as a Roach Coach, you think it will stop and sell you a sandwich, but it runs you down, who is reponsible then? As long as Bush is protecting the drug companies, it won’t be them.
